Last night, (or this morning if you were watching in the UK) former YouTuber Paul managed to beat Tyson via unanimous decision – in a major blow to the 58-year-old boxing icon’s legacy.
Tyson was able to take the upper hand early on in the fight, but fatigue would ultimately get to him – meaning that 27-year-old Paul was eventually able to come out on top.
However, both boxers will be hanging up their gloves for a little while, as they are set to be temporarily suspended from the sport.

The fight took place in Dallas and was therefore licenced under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation – with the board implementing a condition in which the pair would both be suspended for a minimum of seven days to recuperate post-fight.
But the pair will be spending a little longer on the sidelines.
The guidance reportedly went on to state that each boxer should rest for three days per round fought.
Given that both Paul and Tyson were able to go the entire eight rounds, this means they will both be suspended from the sport for 24 days of rest in order to fully recover from the fight.
The reason for this is pretty straight forward, with the board of regulations stating: “Medical disqualification of a contestant is for their own safety and may be made at the recommendation of the examining physician or TDLR.
“A contestant who disagrees with a medical disqualification, medical suspension, or rest period set at the discretion of a ringside physician or a disqualification or suspension set by the department may request a hearing to show proof of fitness.”
However, we can’t imagine that either Paul or Tyson will be gearing up to book another fight anytime soon.
Not that the pair need to either, with both boxers earning enough to take the foreseeable future off.
According to reports, Paul banked around $40 million (£31.7 million) for the fight. Tyson, meanwhile, is said to have made $20 million (£15.8 million) from the night. Paul had even hinted at the pair making some pretty hefty bonuses on top that as well, which means both men can certainly put their feet up for a while.

Here is the eye-watering amount of money Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have reportedly made after their controversial Netflix fight.
After a postponement and speculation about whether or not it would actually go ahead, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul managed to beat legendary boxer Mike Tyson in the hotly anticipated Netflix bout at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
Although ‘Iron Mike’ looked ahead during the early rounds of the fight, the 58-year-old soon began to tire out – allowing the much younger Paul to ultimately win the match via unanimous decision.
However, it’s fair to say that both men are winners when it comes to the amount of money made.

During the lead up to the fight, Paul had made no secret of the fact that his main motive for taking on Tyson was financial gain, telling SPORTbible in an exclusive interview: “This is definitely my biggest payday, of all the fights for sure.”
Tyson on the other hand, had appeared less forthcoming when it came to talk of money, adding that he was instead ‘seeking glory’ from the bout.
However, we imagine that Tyson is certainly grateful for the bumper paycheck after losing to 27-year-old Paul.
According to numerous reports, Tyson has walked away with a tidy $20 million (£15.8 million) for his efforts. Paul on the other hand, is set to have banked a much higher fee – earning a whopping $40 million (£31.7 million) for his trouble.
Which means that when it comes down to the cash – let’s be honest here – both men have left the ring winners.
This may not be the final total for both of the men either, with Paul even claiming the pair could be in to make some pretty hefty bonuses should certain targets be hit during the fight.
“There are definitely certain guaranteed figures and other certain built-in bonuses and stuff on top of sales – key performance indicators that trigger certain things,” Paul explained.
Paul didn’t elaborate further on the bonuses, however, we can only imagine it’s been a pretty lucrative night for The Problem Child.

Jake Paul has beaten Mike Tyson by unanimous decision, after eight rounds of boxing at two minutes each.
Tyson came out the blocks strong, but as the fight went on, Paul grew into the fight and started to dominate the 58-year-old, landing far more punches on Iron Mike has the rounds went on.
Paul looked to have dominated by the end, as according to Netflix, the 27-year-old landed 78 punches from 278 thrown (28 percent), while Tyson landed just 18 punches from 97 thrown (18 percent), as the gulf in age was highlighted to boxing fans.
After Netflix’s unofficial score cards gave rounds one and two to Tyson, the remaining six were given to Paul, as commentators and fans alike were certain of the outcome as the bout went on.

Millions tuned in to the fight as it broadcast live from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, live on streaming platform Netflix.
It was a first of its kind boxing event for Netflix, organised by Paul’s company Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), with eight fights in total taking place in the centre of the stadium that is home to the Dallas Cowboys.
Already tonight, some fans have endured streaming problems while trying to get the fight up, while millions at home were treated, or jump-scared, to Tyson’s bare a** in his locker room following a pre-fight interview.
Rescheduled from 20 July, it was originally called off due to serious health problems suffered by Tyson, 58, while on a plane.
Paul, 27, pocketed $40m (£31.1m) from the fight with Tyson taking home roughly $20m (£15.4m).
“I’m here to make $40m and knock out a legend,” Paul had boldly said before the bout.
Going into the fight, Paul was the bookies’ favourite, odds on at 2/5. Tyson was placed at 12/5 with a draw priced at 9/1.
Heading in to the fight, Paul boasted a 10-1 record, with his only loss coming against Tommy Fury. Iron Mike, who hadn’t fought professionally in 20 years, had a 50-6-2 record.

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are set to exchange blows in a heavyweight boxing match viewed by millions around the world tonight, live on Netflix.
But there will be strict rules both fighters have to follow when it comes to the fight being a fully sanctioned, professional bout.
Taking place in Arlington, Texas, the two boxers will make millions when they finally fight at the home of the Dallas Cowboys with more than 70,000 spectators expected to turn up and take their seats, with a number of famous faces to gather around ringside.
Tensions have risen in the build up to the fight, with Tyson slapping Paul at their weigh-in and final face-to-face encounter last night (14 November).
Taking to the ring at 10pm CT on Friday (15 November), the ring walks for both fighters will be at roughly 4am GMT on Saturday (16 November) for UK viewers. The undercard will begin around three hours before this.
As part of the regulations set out by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Tyson has already had to pass a brain test (EEG) and a heart test (EKG) before being allowed to step inside the ring.
And the regulations don’t stop there, with Paul explaining specific drug testing rules that are in place for the fight.
Paul recently made an appearance on the Suga Sean O’Malley podcast, where he clarified the drug-test rules for the fight.
O’Malley’s coach, Tim Welch, said: “They’ve got to let Mike use some special supplements, a little bit. I mean 58-years-old.

“Having the lifestyle that he’s had, his natural testosterone can’t be that high, so hopefully he’s able to get boosted up a little bit.”
Replying to the testosterone comments Paul said: “Well, there’s like a big, panel, drugs test from the Texas State Commission.”
Tyson has openly admitted to his recreational drug use, with him being an avid user of psychedelic substances. In August, he even said he ‘always trains on mushrooms’, in reference to his consumption of magic mushrooms.
Making the comment on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, he said consuming them ‘makes him feel beautiful’.
“They take me to heaven, baby,” he said.
Paul has had to come out and deny that he uses performance enhancing drugs after meritless steroid accusations were put his way.
“First of all, obviously none of that is true,” Paul said on a podcast ahead of one of his fights, even publishing his own negative drugs tests to prove he is clean.
Under Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation rules, boxers cannot be under the influence of any drugs, unless prescribed by your doctor.
Boxers cannot engage in the manufacture, sale, distribution, use, or possession of illegal drugs at any time.
And the drugs for which tests are required under the regulations are marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, phencyclidine (PCP), and opiates.

But fans noticed something peculiar during the biggest ever US boxing event outside of Las Vegas, as it looked like the 58-year-old Tyson kept touching his mouth throughout the fight.
The odd behaviour was picked up by reporters too, as one asked why he did it.
The announcer asked: “Was it a mouthpiece issue, or were you just biting on your glove?”
Mike Tyson answered: “I have a habit of biting my glove.”
The announcer replied: “Why?”
To which, Tyson oddly admitted: “I have a biting fixation.”
However, some of this bigger fans took to social media to defend him, as they think it should be common knowledge to boxing fans.
Taking to X, one user wrote: “My man, Tyson’s mouthpiece is fine.
“He bites his gloves. He’s done it forever. Stop talking about his mouthpiece.”
Another pointed out: “Tyson’s ‘I have a biting fixation’ comment in the post-fight interview when asked if he was biting his glove or having issues with his mouthguard is up there with some of the all-time funniest”
A third joked: “Tyson has chewed on his gloves more times than he’s used them to throw an actual punch.”
The biting comments from Tyson come almost 30 years after the infamous incident where he bit off Evander Holyfield’s ear in the ring, during a bout in June 1997.
