Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Episode 9 Review: The Tragic Twist
After Kevin Costner officially declared that he won’t be a part of the second part of the upcoming last edition of the show. The fans did expect some twist that would be rapping his role up in the television series and lead to the ultimate finale of the show. But what no one expected was John Dutton committing suicide. The man who has been fighting to save the age-long legacy of his family for over 4 seasons now lies dead on the cold floor of his bathroom. Sounds unbelievable, not only to us but also to the Dutton family. Beth and Kayce reach the governor’s mansion and Beth quickly pins the blame on Jamie. John Dutton has been murdered and it is now time to dig out the truth.
Jamie Announcing The Death of His Father
As the episode proceeds further, we see Jamie announcing the death of his father by conducting a press conference totally unaware of the fact that he is actually the one who is responsible for the death of his beloved father. In the first half of this season, we saw Jamie’s girlfriend Sarah, who was in reality a seductress from the Exquisite Market, suggesting that the only way to get his revenge from his father was to murder him. However, Jamie did not expect Sarah to go ahead with her plan. As Jamie reached home, willowing in pain of losing his father, Sarah was there waiting for him with glasses of Champagne ready to celebrate John’s Death.
The Last Hope Kayce
Sarah indeed killed Jamie’s father and when questioned about it, she tried convincing Jamie that older lions never die of hunger but in the jaws of the younger lions, and Jamie was the younger lion so he should claim his empire. The last hope of the audience is now attached to Kayce. Beth believes Jamie is the one responsible for the death of John, unlike Kayce who does not really believe Jamie will stoop so low but also does not believe John will commit suicide. As Tate is chosen to be the beneficiary of the trust of the Dutton family, Kayce is left with the responsibility of not only finding the truth but also making sure that the enemies who are proving to be a threat to the legacy of his family are silenced for the greater good.
Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Episode 9 Review: Final Take
The premiere of the second and the final part of the 5th season which will also be the last season of the series has made it very clear that the finale would be nothing less than a war. Even if the king of the show has been eliminated from the scene, the audience can still expect an epic finale. However, the fans who have been following the series for long expected the character of Kevin Costner to get a proper ending. The rushed scene of his death, accompanied by present scenes and excessive flashbacks diluted the overall impact of his death.
