Yellowstone fans were left devastated by the opening minutes of season five episode nine, the first new episode of the popular series since January 1, 2023. Battle lines have been clearly drawn after Jamie not only killed his adoptive father but also ruined his legacy by setting up his death as a suicide. Paramount Network released an action-packed one-minute teaser for the remaining episodes of the final season, showcasing an alliance between the Duttons and Thomas Rainwater and Kayce being all in on taking down his brother.
The season five part two premiere set a new high in premiere night viewership, with 16.4 million viewers tuning in. That’s a 3% increase over the first episode of season five which aired on November 10, 2022.
“Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States,” reads Paramount Network’s synopsis. “Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.”
